Medical Physicists support advanced radiation oncology programs, delivering safe and precise cancer treatments while working with specialized technologies across a range of clinical sites and procedures.
Practice Profile
Medical Physicists work as part of a team of clinical physicists supporting an active radiation oncology program.
This includes:
- Treatment of all major radiotherapy sites (brain, head and neck, pelvis, lung, breast and more)
- Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT)
- Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) utilizing HyperArc
- High dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy for prostate and gynecologic cancers
Qualifications and requirements
- Postgraduate degree in Medical Physics or a related field
- Completion of a CAMPEP-accredited residency program (or equivalent)
- Eligible for membership with the Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine
