Practice Profile
Continuing Care Assistants provide personal care and support activities of daily living for patients, residents and clients. They play a key role in helping individuals maintain independence and quality of life while supporting their physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding and mobility
- Support patient comfort, safety and dignity
- Observe and report changes in condition to healthcare teams
- Assist with basic therapeutic and recreational activities
- Maintain a clean, safe and supportive care environment
Education & Certification
- Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) certificate
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
- Food Safe certification (where required)
- Valid driver’s licence (for some roles)
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
Work Environment

Remuneration
Continuing Care Assistants in Saskatchewan are paid according to provincial collective agreements, with additional premiums for evening, night and weekend shifts, and potential incentives available in rural and hard-to-recruit locations.
