Job Description

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Therapies or his/her designate, the Physical Therapist is an integral member of the team. As a primary health care provider, the Physical Therapist works independently for major portions of time with minimal supervision. The Physical Therapist is a member of a professional health discipline whose education and knowledge qualify him/her to make decisions and accept responsibility for clinical physical therapy client care (evaluation � or assessment, intervention, education, consultation). The Physical Therapist is accountable for all aspects of the physical therapy care they provide to clients, ensuring that service is consistent with the Mission Statement, philosophy, goals and objectives of the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA). The Physical Therapist participates in an interdisciplinary team approach that ensures practice standards are compliant with standards established by the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists (SCPT).

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
  • Bachelor Degree in Physical Therapy
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan College of Physical Therapists

  • Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement. HSAS seniority within the Saskatchewan Health Authority will be considered under the Selection Criteria.

Additional Information

The successful candidate is responsible to obtain and provide an original Criminal Record Check (CRC) & Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) from their local police service, RCMP or previous country/countries of residence that is dated within the past six (6) months that is satisfactory to the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Internal candidates may be required to provide a CRC & VSC during recruitment and selection process.
