Saskatchewan is in the heart of Western Canada – bordered by the Northwest Territories on the north, Manitoba on the east, Alberta on the west, and the US states of Montana and North Dakota on the south.
The entire province has a population of just over a million people living in rural and remote communities and large urban centres, such as Regina and Saskatoon.

- there are no personal premiums or personal charges for basic and needed health care services in Saskatchewan;
- the provincial sales tax of six per cent is the lowest of any province that charges sales tax;
- it costs less to go to and from work because the maximum commute times in Regina and Saskatoon are about 20 minutes;
