The Saskatchewan Advantage

See for Yourself - Saskatchewan is about wide open spaces, a low cost of living, and friendly, active communities.

Click here or on the image to the right to watch a flash presentation of some of the many things Saskatchewan has to offer.

Work and Play - the opportunities are as wide open as the sky. Come see what makes this the best place in the world!

There are close to 100,000 freshwater lakes, wide open prairie, exciting badlands and northern forests. Every region is distinct in its landscape, culture, history and experience.

One of the best things about Saskatchewan is the people. From city centres to small towns you'll always find a friendly face and an easy-going pace.

For recreation there are close to 5 million acres (more than 2 million hectares) of parkland, including 2 National Parks and 34 Provincial Parks.

And everywhere you go, a warm welcome awaits you!

Saskatchewan is located in the heart of Canada. Our province is home to one million people, split between four major urban centres and hundreds of rural communities. The primary industries are mining, oil & gas, agriculture, forestry and manufacturing. We are also home to a growing research sector, led by Canada's biggest science project, The Canadian Light Source Synchrotron-which is attracting researchers from around the world.

This is also the birthplace of Medicare in Canada; and a model of health care reform around the world. Residents do not pay health care premiums and have access to some of the world's best medical facilities, systems and technologies.

Two world class universities and several colleges offer degrees, diplomas, and certificates in hundreds of areas and disciplines. Colleges and schools include: Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Dentistry, Education, Engineering, Kinesiology, Law, Medicine (includes Physical Therapy), Nursing, Pharmacy, Nutrition and Veterinary Medicine. No wonder Saskatchewan residents are some of the world's best educated people; 50% of the work force in the province has a post-secondary education.

The quality of life is high, while the cost of living is low. That makes this a great place to live and raise a family.
