Heartland: PLAY
|
 |
 |
 |
|
Heartland communities offer an abundance of recreational opportunities including: parks, organized
sports and sports
facilities, and two excellent school systems. Did you know, for example, that:
- The Gardiner
Dam is Canada's largest earth-filled dam.
- Lake
Diefenbaker provides the setting
for three regional and three provincial parks that offer camping, golfing, sailing, fishing, wakeboarding, waterskiing,
tubing, biking, hiking and bird watching.
- The Sky
Trail in Outlook is the longest pedestrian bridge in the world.
- Harris is home to the famous "Pull
of the Land" play by Elaine Kowpak and Beth Robertson.
In addition, communities in Heartland are home to sports centres that are used for a number of purposes
including entertainment and cultural events, community dances, trade shows, indoor skate parks and
car shows. We have communities with swimming pools, golf courses, ski resorts, arts centres, bowling alleys,
fitness centres, museums, curling rinks and skating rinks. You can hunt, attend rodeos, stock car races and
music festivals, or pick berries and other prairie fruits.
Come home to Heartland. Enjoy the great outdoors, friendly communities and wonderful neighbours.
