Discover the Great Southwest! The Cypress Health Region encompasses over 60,000 square kilometers of adventure and entertainment including Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, the Great Sandhills, Eastend's T-Rex Paleontology Dig, Grasslands National Park, and the picturesque prairie grain belt. This diverse landscape provides many opportunities for outdoor adventure such as skiing, biking, golfing, fishing, boating, camping, and/or hunting.
Our service clubs and community organizations provide many opportunities for residents to become and remain active in their communities. Join a recreational sporting team, or cheer on our local sports heroes, including the Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club, or the Swift Current Indians Baseball team. Sporting activities in the southwest include hockey, ringette, baseball, fastball, slow pitch, curling, horseshoes, basketball, volleyball, swim club, archery, bowling, squash, racquetball, tennis, golf and football.
Southwest Saskatchewan is also home to many arts and cultural activities, festivals and trade shows. Visit Swift
Current's Fringe Festival, the Long Days Night Music Festival, or take in a unique artistic performance at
the Lyric Theater. Residents and visitors enjoy attending community fairs, rodeos and festivals,
visiting community museums, watching friends and neighbours in local drama productions, taking an art
class, or attending concerts by diverse artists from across Canada.
Vibrant Rural communities provide access to many tourist worthy events and activities. Please visit
Tourism Southwest, Action Southwest, or these community websites for further information on
current happenings.
