"We are few people living in a vast area." Most residents of Northern Saskatchewan live in small
communities along the North's river systems. Some communities are accessible only by air - for
example, Stony Rapids is a fly-in community for most people. Although remote, communities in the Athabasca
Health Authority have modern infrastructure with amenities that include schools and stores, along
with other businesses and government services. Traditional activities such as hunting, trapping,
fishing, and guiding abound.
